Garrisons Lake Golf Club, originally built in 1962, is located on Delaware Route 13 immediately south of Smyrna and nine miles north of Dover. This beautiful and historic Delaware course features tree-lined fairways, many parallel fairways, and large, well-bunkered, undulating greens. The golf course opened again for play on September 12 (2008) after a complete renovation. Garrisons Lake Golf Club is owned by the State of Delaware and is now operated for the state on a non-profit basis by the Delaware State Golf Association.
The course rewards straight tee shots, although the trees dividing the many parallel fairways are not overly punitive for errant tee shots. While there are three holes which have water in play, the forced carries are relatively short. Garrisons Lake offers challenges for all levels of golfing skills.
